The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has forecast Air Quality Action Days for Thursday, Sept. 19 and Friday, Sept. 20, 2024.
Ozone levels are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, or orange range.
Warm temperatures, low humidity and light winds will create conditions that are favorable for ozone development that reaches the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range locally. A low pressure system will begin to move east across the lower Great Lakes on Friday and direct the warm front southward and increase humidity.
