The Town of Bremen has been selected to host a global art installation, the America Connects “Joy & Family” Mural Mosaic, as part of the internationally acclaimed Global Roots Project.
The “Joy & Family” mosaic, will be a vibrant and collaborative piece and is composed of thousands of individual paintings contributed by local and global artists from across the world.
Each piece, while unique, will come together to form a cohesive image that reflects the universal themes of joy and family. This installation will be a testament to the power of collective creativity and the shared human experience.
Two local organizations have partnered up to bring this mural to Bremen’s historic downtown — Bremen Arts Collective and Bremen Community Cares.
“We are thrilled to have been selected to host this global art installation!” said Lauri Waidner, board member of Bremen Arts Collective. “Having our community participate not only in the making of this global piece but also hosting it as a permanent art installation is a reminder that even though we are all individuals, we are all connected in this world. This mural will be a wonderful addition to our newly-renovated downtown gathering area, and we look forward to its unveiling.”
The mural will be installed in Bremen’s historic downtown area where it will serve as both a local landmark and a destination for visitors. The project was funded in full by Bremen Community Cares.
The unveiling ceremony is planned for October 18, 2024, and will include a celebration with local artists, community leaders, and representatives from the Global Roots Project.
