Plymouth Man Seriously Injured in Crash in Marshall County

A Plymouth man was injured in a two-vehicle accident on West 12B Road near King Road in Marshall County Friday, August 9 at about 10 a.m. ET.

Officers arrived within minutes to find a driver entrapped in a car with serious injuries.

According to the Indiana State Police, a red 2012 Ford passenger car driven by Robert Dragani, 81, of Plymouth, was traveling eastbound in the 10,000 block of West 12B Road when it crossed the centerline and collided with a red 2007 cement truck traveling westbound. Police say the front left corner of the Ford collided with the front left corner of the cement truck, entrapping Dragani. Dragani was flown by Samaritan medical helicopter to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the cement truck, Garrett Sallee Jr., was not injured. He submitted to a chemical test as required by Indiana statute for drivers involved in serious bodily injury and fatal crashes.

Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to be factors in this crash. Evidence gathered at the scene indicates that Dragani was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Marshal County Sheriff’s Department, Argos Police Department, Plymouth EMS, and Lutheran Air Ambulance.
