Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety, City Council to Meet Tonight

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members will meet tonight where they will consider a request by the St. Michael Parish to close an alley, and a request from the Plymouth-Kilwinning Masonic Lodge to use the water tower lot.

The department heads will provide reports as necessary.

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety will meet at 6 p.m. ET tonight followed by the Plymouth City Council meeting at 6:30 p.m.

The Plymouth City Council members will hold a public hearing concerning an additional appropriations resolution. That resolution will be considered for approval later in the meeting.

The council will look at several ordinances on second and third readings. One ordinance pertains to the adoption of the personnel policy by reference, while another pertains to the use of golf carts on streets and alleys. An ordinance that fixes the salaries of appointed officers and employees, fire and police personnel for 2025 will also be reviewed on second and third reading.

A tabled annexation ordinance and resolution are on the agenda.

A contract with Oak Crest Auctions will be reviewed, and several resolutions will be up for consideration. One resolution addresses a commercial revitalization rebate program grant. One resolution authorizes the sale of personal property at public auction for the distribution of auction proceeds, and another would support READI 2.0 grant projects.

Both meetings will be held in the second floor Council Chambers room in the Plymouth City Building at 124 N. Michigan Street. Those interested in attending the meeting in person should enter the building through the Garro Street entrance.
