One person was injured in a single-vehicle accident Friday, August 16 at 11:50 p.m. ET in the area of U.S. 6 and 1C Road in Marshall County.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, 36-year-old Hannah Stieglitz of Madison, Wisconsin was driving her 2022 BMW west on U.S. 6 at the curve at 1C Road when she said the vehicle was “grabbed” and threw her to the side of the road after rolling over. Police say it was found that a recent storm had taken down a tree with power lines, causing a cable from another pole to lay across U.S. 6. The BMW then drove over the cable getting caught in the wheel of the vehicle causing the accident, according to the report.
Stieglitz was transported to a regional hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Polk Township Fire Department and Walkerton EMS.
