Marshall County Sheriff Releases Statistics for July

Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel recently released the department statistics and jail statistics for July 2024.

The top 10 offenses for the month include failure to appear, operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, operator never licensed, driving while suspended, domestic battery, resisting law enforcement, theft, possession of cocaine/narcotic drug, and possession of methamphetamine.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department had 72 arrests, Plymouth Police Department had 44 arrests, Indiana State Police had 13 arrests, Bremen Police Department had 10 arrests, Culver Police Department had 5 arrests, Community Corrections had 3 arrests, Argos Police Department had 3 arrests, Bourbon Police Department had 2 arrests, DNR had 2 arrests, and the Bourbon Police Department had 2 arrests.

There were 79 accidents in July, 91 warning/citations issued, 13 security checks, and 88 case reports.

The 911 Central Dispatch received a total of 4,487 calls in July with 1,406 of those calls to 911. There were 1,152 service calls for the Sheriff’s Department.

The jail population on August 1 was 134. The average July 2024 jail population was 135.

There are 1,318 active warrants in the county.
