Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety Members Discuss Discipline against Police Officer

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members discussed disciplinary action against a Plymouth Police Department officer during their meeting Monday, July 8.

Stuart Krynock was involved in a motor vehicle accident in the area of North Oak Drive and Pidco Drive in Plymouth as he was driving a blue 2012 Honda VT 1300. As previously reported, court documents stated that Krynock admitted to being the driver involved in the crash. The Probable Cause Affidavit detailed that Krynock was believed to be intoxicated because there was an odor of alcoholic beverage, his speech was slow to respond, his eyes were bloodshot, he was emotional and he cried throughout the interaction. A portable breath test result showed 0.174 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath, according to court documents. According to the PCA, Krynock was advised of the Implied Consent Law and submitted to a chemical test. That same document states that the test was administered by drawing or taking a sample of whole blood. The results of the chemical test was an alcohol concentration equivalent to 0.214 grams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood, according to court documents.

He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, and operating a vehicle with an Alcohol Concentration Equivalent to .15 or more, both misdemeanor counts.

Plymouth City Attorney Jeff Houin reminded the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members Monday night that they held an Executive Session June 3 with a follow-up on due process and consideration on July 1. The recommendation presented to the board Monday, July 8 was to suspend Krynock without pay from the Plymouth Police Department for 90 days which would be in effect Tuesday, July 9. The board unanimously voted to approve that recommendation.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
