The members of the Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board will be hosting an open house at the West Township Trustee’s Cabin at Memorial Forest Saturday, August 3.
The board members invite members of the community to meet them and look at the cabin following its relocation from its original location from across the now-demolished West Township School on State Road 17. They also encourage visitors to walk the trails at Memorial Forest which will soon be home to a disc golf course.
The board members also recently approved the purchase of a pavilion to be built at the site for almost $19,000 by Langfelt Excavating.
Memorial Forest is located at 18452 14th Road south of Plymouth off of State Road 17.
The Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board also oversees The Trails at Mill Pond which features walking and biking trails on Rose Road.
The board will meet at 9 a.m. ET for their regular meeting prior to the open house which will be ongoing from the conclusion of that meeting to about noon.
