A Fort Wayne man was arrested Sunday, July 14 just before 1 a.m. ET after the Marshall County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center was advised of a possible impaired semi truck driver on U.S. 30 at Gumwood Road.
A Plymouth Police Department officer was able to locate the semi and conducted a traffic stop for traffic infractions at U.S. 30 and Oak Road. A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy spoke to the driver, 41-year-old John W. Williams reportedly agreed to field sobriety tests and a portable breath test. He also agreed to a certified breath test which reportedly showed his alcohol blood content was .127%. Williams was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
