The Culver Community School Board members approved Memorandum of Understanding documents with area sheriff’s departments during their meeting Monday, July 15.
Superintendent Karen Shuman explained that there are times where the corporation’s School Resource Officers could work community events such as, for example, the Culver Lake Fest, or at Monterey Days as a volunteer or as a hired officer. Essentially, they would be serving families in communities that support the Culver Community School Corporation.
The school board unanimously approved Memorandum of Understanding paperwork with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department.
