Bremen Town Council Approves Community Crossings Matching Grant Bid

The Bremen Town Council members approved a bid recommendation for the town’s Community Crossings Matching Grant projects.

Four bids were opened during the council’s last meeting in June for asphalt milling and hot mix asphalt resurface, hot mix asphalt reconstruction, concrete curb, sidewalk and curb ramp reconstruction on portions of West Mill Street, North Baltimore Street, South Whitlock Street, and South East Street.

E&B Paving submitted a bid of $498,115.30, Milestone Contractors submitted a bid of $569,576.70, Rieth Riley Construction submitted a bid of $443,727, and Niblock Excavating submitted a bid of $538,931.50.

Ken Jones from JPR recommended that the town approve the lowest bid submitted by Rieth Riley Construction at $443,727. He said all of the bid documents were in order. The council unanimously approved that recommendation.
