Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety Opens Bids for Paving Projects

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety opened bids for the 2024 street projects during their meeting Monday, June 10.

The bids presented will be for the milling/excavation of pavement, pavement undercut, concrete demolition, the placement of hot mix asphalt, sidewalk and curb ramp construction, and miscellaneous items as specified in the project bid documentation for W. Garro Street from Third to Walnut, Fourth Street from Garro to Adams, Washington Street from Fifth to Third, Bayless Street from Alexander to Webster, Miner Street from Webster to Williams, Fourth Street from Lake Avenue to Laporte Street, Monroe Street from Fifth to Broadway, Clinton Street from Chester to South Michigan Street, and the Cemetery Street addition.

E&B Paving submitted a bid of $700,710, Rieth Riley Construction submitted a bid of $587,402, Milestone Contractors North submitted a bid of $662,299.95, and Niblock Excavating submitted a bid of $641,424.75.

The board unanimously approved a motion to take the bids under advisement. City Engineer Daniel Sellers and Street Department Superintendent Jim Marquardt will review them and bring forward a recommendation to the board during their next meeting.
