Marshall County Sheriff Releases Statistics for May

Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel recently released the department statistics and jail statistics for May 2024.

The top 10 offenses for the month include operating while intoxicated, failure to appear, operator never licensed, possession of methamphetamine, driving while suspended, possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, resisting law enforcement, domestic battery, and possession of a scheduled controlled substance.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department had 56 arrests, Plymouth Police Department had 42 arrests, Indiana State Police had 11 arrests, Bremen Police Department had 5 arrests, Community Corrections had 4 arrests, Argos Police Department had 4 arrests, Culver Police Department had 3 arrests, and the Bourbon Police Department had 1 arrest.

There were 84 accidents in May, 112 warning/citations issued, 6 security checks, and 77 case reports.

The 911 Central Dispatch received a total of 4,442 calls in May with 1,413 of those calls to 911. There were 1,142 service calls for the Sheriff’s Department.

The jail population on June 6 was 135. The average May 2024 jail population was 132.

There are 1,368 active warrants in the county.
