Marshall County Council Supports Security Upgrade, Hears Wage Recommendation

Security Division of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department at the Courthouse Duane Culp, Dan Sammartano of Hyperwave Consulting, and Commissioner Stan Klotz presented the need for updated cameras in the County Building and Courthouse to the Marshall County Council.

There will not be additional costs for service calls because it falls under the current contract with Hyperwave active now. The additional cameras will provide improved surveillance for security officers. The cameras will eventually be tied in to the Dispatch Center.

Councilman Jim Masterson asked if the three year warranty could be extended. Sammartano answered that the three year warranty is industry standard; new equipment would need purchased after that time frame.

The Council approved support in the approximate amount of $56,000 from LIT. That will be advertised and official approval will be on the agenda for the July meeting.

In other news, Klotz also informed the Council of the non-binding recommendation made by the Commissioners for a 4% wage increase for 2025 to be considered during the budget session.
