Traffic Stops Result in Arrests

Two separate traffic stops conducted by officers from the Plymouth Police Department resulted in the arrest of the drivers.

An officer initiated a traffic stop Thursday, May 16 at 4:10 a.m. ET for an equipment violation near the intersection of Michigan and North Streets. Police say the driver, 37-year-old Elbin Colindres-Hernandez, of Plymouth, was determined to have never obtained a driver’s license and was taken into custody. Colindres-Hernandez was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on a preliminary charge of operator never licensed.

A traffic stop conducted Thursday, May 16 at 4:13 a.m. ET after a Plymouth Police Department officer observed a vehicle reportedly disregarding a stop sign at Jackson Heights Road and S. Michigan Street. Police say it was discovered that the driver, Daniel Antonio Torres, had never been issued a valid driver’s license. Torres was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
