Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson updated the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members regarding the Waterworks Improvement Project.
The water main extensions and the water tank renovation are moving along. The plans and specifications are very close to completion.
A draft was sent regarding the advertisement. Davidson and Clerk-Treasurer Lynn Gorski made the necessary edits. Davidson requested board approval to proceed with the advertisement for publication to accommodate a possible bid date of June 10; the board approved.
As a reminder, the Waterworks Improvement Project contents the following elements:
1. Abandoning existing 4” water main along Jefferson Street and replace with a new 12” water main (2880 LF)
2. Install new 12” water main and new 6” water main to loop water system near Gilmore Street / Yellow River Crossing (335 LF)
3. Install 470 LF of new water main to loop water system, along Plum Street
4. Rehabilitate existing PIDCO Elevated Water Storage Tank (sandblast, repaint interior / exterior, structural work)
