Petition Filing for School Board Candidates Begins May 21

Candidates wishing to run for a school board seat may begin to file petitions with the Marshall County Clerk’s Office Tuesday, May 21.

According to the Marshall County Clerk’s Office, candidates have to complete petitions and the names on those petitions have to be verified as being registered voters within the boundaries of the school corporation. Ten signatures are required in order to file. Voters living in the school corporation limits can vote for all candidates. Candidates file in the Marshall County Clerk’s Office except for John Glenn and Union- North United who will both file in St. Joseph County.

The open Argos Community School Board seats include District 4 in Green Township and District 5 in Walnut Township Less Town.

The open Bremen Public School District seats include District 1 Town of Bremen, District 2 Outside the Town of Bremen and District 3 At-Large.

The open Culver Community School Board seats in Marshall County include At-Large A, District 5, and Union Township.

The open John Glenn School Board seats include one Lincoln Township seat, Johnson Township, one Liberty Township seat, and one seat in Polk Township.

The open Plymouth Community School Board seats include At-Large, District 2 West Township, and District 3 City of Plymouth.

Open seats on the Triton School Board include At-Large and District 3 Bourbon Township.

The open seats on the Union-North United School Board include At-Large, North Township, and Union Township.

The deadline to file to run for school board is Thursday, June 20 at noon ET.
