Marshall County Election Board Certifies Election

The Marshall County Election Board members took action Tuesday morning to certify the May Primary Election results.

In all, there were 210 absentee ballots mailed with 182 sent in prior to the deadline. One vote was rejected for not having a matching signature. The Travel Board had 106 ballots and there were a total of 1,130 in-person early voters in the Marshall County Clerk’s Office, The Pines in Bremen and the Culver Community School Corporation Administration Building. There were 4,408 votes cast at the polls on Election Day.

There was a 20.01 percent voter turnout with a total of 5,829 votes cast in the election.

There were no provisional ballots.

The board unanimously approved to certify the election. The members signed a form that is sent to the state.

Additionally, Democrat Benjamin Sharkey filed for Marshall County Commissioner in District 3. The filings are open until July 3 at noon ET to fill any vacant party seats for the November General Election.
