Bremen Residents Encouraged to Register Golf Carts by June 1

Golf cart registration is new in the Town of Bremen and the town council members urge residents to get registration complete by June 1.

Police Chief Brad Kile said over 60 people have registered golf carts in the Town of Bremen.

The Bremen Town Council previously adopted an ordinance amendment concerning golf carts. The biggest change in the ordinance is the registration requirement and a registration fee. All golf carts will be required to be registered in the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office with an annual $10 registration fee. A police officer will need to inspect the golf cart before the decal can be issued to legally operate the golf cart on town streets.

The cost of registration will cover the cost of the decals and the time to process registration.

Golf carts must be insured before operation in the town limits of Bremen.

Golf carts may not be operated on the walking trails, grass or sod in the Bremen Parks System unless there is a legitimate medical purpose.
