A disc golf course will soon be constructed at Memorial Forest.
Peter Kenney is working with Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board President Greg Hildebrand heading up the effort with help from Josh Wilhelm and Wesley Skiles who helped put together the disc golf course at Centennial Park.
The first nine holes of the course have been laid out with tape to get an idea of the layout of the course. That will be this year’s project with a full 18-hole course to be laid out next year.
The beginning of the course is just to the east of the parking area at Memorial Forest and ends, for now, near the second entrance.
There will be some signage for holes and par numbers. Tee boxes will need to be constructed as the work progresses to offer the sport for visitors. All of that will be incorporated as the implementation of the course continues.
The Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board approved a motion to allow the project to move forward.
