The Culver Community School Board approved the hire of a new curriculum director Monday, April 15.
Superintendent Karen Shuman previously explained to the board that the teachers have expressed a desire to have someone to discuss various topics with them such as new standards being adopted in English and Math, interventions with students, doing standard-based grading, or help write local assessments, as examples. She said it would be better to have someone in a curriculum director position who would not evaluate a teacher later in that role.
This person would also take on the test coordinator position and do some data collection.
The board unanimously approved the hire of Tim Daugherty to fill the role of curriculum director.
