Officials from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department say a medical event with an inmate occurred Friday, March 15 at the Marshall County Jail. Police say the inmate was immediately taken to the hospital and then transferred to a hospital in St. Joseph County. Later that day, the inmate was released on his own recognizance while still hospitalized.
On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department obtained information that Bruce Vanblaricom, age 54, passed away within the hospital.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is extending condolences to the family and friends of Vanblaricom.
