House Fire in Plymouth Results in Drug Arrest

Two people were arrested Friday, March 15 after a structure fire at 1234 Fairbanks Avenue.

Police say as Plymouth Fire Department firefighters attempted to locate and put out the fire, a man later identified as 39-year-old Cody Brown of Plymouth repeatedly attempted to interfere with the fire department’s response.

Once the fire was out, suspected narcotics and paraphernalia were found in plain view, according to the report. Plymouth Police Department officers obtained a search warrant and approximately 73 grams of suspected methamphetamine were seized. Police say paraphernalia and suspected marijuana-THC gummies were also seized along with a firearm. Cassandra Davis, 43, of Plymouth, was identified as a resident and interviewed.

As a result, Brown and Davis were taken into custody and booked into the Marshall County Jail. Brown faces preliminary felony charges of possession of methamphetamine, trafficking with an inmate, neglect of a dependent, and maintaining a common nuisance, along with misdemeanor charges of refusing to leave an emergency incident area, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, and possession of paraphernalia.

Davis faces a preliminary felony charge of maintaining a common nuisance.

The Plymouth Police Department was assisted by the Marshall County Drug Task Force.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
