Bremen Town Council Opens Bids for Pickleball Project

The Bremen Town Council members opened bids for the pickleball project during their last meeting.

Eight bids were received. The Robert Henry Corporation submitted a base bid of $342,000, Brown and Brown General Contractors submitted a base bid of $288,000, Ziolkowski Construction Inc. submitted a base bid of $362,900, Thomas Excavating submitted a base bid of $394,697, Schrock Commercial submitted a base bid of $289,000, Premium Concrete Services Inc. submitted a base bid of $364,529, R. Yoder Construction submitted a base bid of $314,279, and Skips Custom Concrete submitted a base bid of $345,500.

There were three alternate bids which adds a pavilion, deducts a concrete apron, and includes a south addition.

The bids came in under the original engineer’s estimate.

The town council will discuss the bids further during their upcoming meeting Monday, March 11 with the anticipation of a bid award during that meeting.

There will be six pickleball courts constructed in this project which is preliminarily expected to be complete by the beginning of July. It will also include outer fencing, fencing between courts, an ADA parking space, and other amenities, some of which will be dependent on the acceptance of bids. The pickleball courts will be located in Sunnyside Park north of the girls varsity softball field.

This project is being funded in part by READI 1.0 funds.
