The Argos Community School Board members discussed summer school hours when they met Monday, March 11.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said summer school for students will start Monday, June 3 and end Thursday, June 27.
“It’ll be four days a week Monday through Thursday for the month of June and it will run from 8 a.m. to noon ET,” stated Speicher.
Employees will work four, 10-hour days in the summer.
Speicher said there are several course offerings for students in the summer.
“We offer catch up growth for all of our Elementary school kids and some additional ILEARN training for our second and third graders. We have summer Ag Experience for our agriculture kids, and all kinds of band classes during the summer from beginning band through High School band. In the Middle School, we have Science Enrichment and English classes and Math classes, and in the High School we also provide catch up for credit recovery for those students.”
The school board members approved summer school hours as presented, as well as professional development for teachers during the summer.
