

Two people were arrested in a theft investigation conducted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
Police say a resident reported that funds were stolen from a debit card account in November 2023. During the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect(s) were also allegedly involved in breaking into abandoned buildings (homes) and stealing copper and scrap. A case report was forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office where formal charges were filed.
One suspect, 24-year-old Mackenzie Vanlue of Rochester, was arrested Thursday, February 8 and the second suspect, 23-year-old Kristofer Conley of Culver, was arrested Saturday, February 10.
Vanlue was charged with a Level 6 Felony count of theft with a $3,000 cash bond, and Conley was charged with Level 6 Felony charges of burglary and theft with a $25,000 cash bond.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
