A Plymouth man was arrested Thursday, February 1 after Plymouth Police Department officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop after receiving information about a person who attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill at Family Express.
The suspect’s vehicle, an orange Ford Ranger, was seen in the area of Randolph Street and a traffic stop was attempted. The driver, 42-year-old Jeffrey H. Jackson, reportedly did not stop or pull over when the officer initiated the stop with emergency lights and sirens.
The vehicle was eventually pinned in by two Plymouth Police patrol vehicles. Police say Jackson tried ramming both police patrol vehicles to escape, but was unable to get free. Jackson was removed from the vehicle and was given field sobriety testing and then transported to the hospital for a certified blood test, according to the report.
Jackson was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary felony charges of battery with a deadly weapon, habitual traffic violator, counterfeit bills, resisting law enforcement, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction. He was also booked on misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated about .08, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, resisting law enforcement, and theft.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
