Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Two in Separate Incidents

Two people were arrested in two separate recent incidents.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to an accident Saturday, February 24 at 8 p.m. ET at Michigan Road and U.S. 6 for a vehicle that drove into the ditch.

A witness stated the driver left the vehicle and went into the gas station at Arby’s. The driver was then located and was found to have reportedly consumed alcohol.

The driver was identified as Franklin R. Vega of Plymouth. Police say Vega was given some field sobriety tests and also agreed to a certified test. He was found to have a blood alcohol content of .12% and was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Vega faces a preliminary felony charge due to having a prior conviction of operating while intoxicated within the last 7 years. Vega was also cleared by hospital staff due to the accident.

In a separate incident, while on regular patrol, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies were alerted of a vehicle whose registered owner was unlicensed.

The driver of the vehicle, Milton Samir Turcios Rivera, 37, has a preliminary charge of operating without ever receiving a license.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
