A Fort Wayne woman is in the Marshall County Jail after a traffic stop was initiated by a deputy from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department in the area of U.S. 30 and Elm Road in Marshall County.
Police say a Chrysler 300 was approaching an officer’s stationary squad car in that area at a high rate of speed. The deputy activated the rear-facing radar and reportedly determined the vehicle’s speed was 92 mph in a 60 mph zone. The deputy caught up with the vehicle and conducted the traffic stop.
During the traffic stop, the driver, 33-year-old Ece Ozen of Fort Wayne, was found to be in possession of a large quantity of marijuana and suspected prescription medications without proper labeling and container, according to the report.
Ozen was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of a legend drug, and possession of marijuana.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
