A Bremen Water Department employee was recently recognized by the Bremen Town Council members for the successful completion of an apprenticeship program.
Kenneth Moser completed the program through the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water. Apprenticeship Program Coordinator Kelly Gardner said the program was initiated two years ago and through an Indiana Finance Authority grant, Moser was able to get into the apprenticeship to train in water operations.
Overall, Moser performed 4,000 hours of on the job training and participated in 288 hours of classroom training in the two-year program. He passed the IDEM certification exam. He has a two-year certification from the United States Department of Labor from the Office of Apprenticeship for completing a water license.
Additionally, out of the 2023 graduates on the water and wastewater curriculum in the program, Moser was named Outstanding Water Apprentice of the Year. He will receive a trophy at the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water spring conference.
As part of the Indiana Finance Authority grant, the town was reimbursed Moser’s wages for the two years which totals $75,680, plus the training cost of $7,891 and the purchase of a laptop in the amount of $700.
The Bremen Town Council members congratulated Moser on his efforts and accomplishments.
