During the regular meeting held in February, Bourbon Police Department Chief Bill Martin updated the Bourbon Town Council with his monthly report.
For January 2024, there were 14 911 calls, five accidents, two alarms, two assists to motorists, 30 assists to other agencies, two attempts to locate, one civil issue, one dog or animal complaint, two domestic disturbances (verbal and physical), 11 foot patrols, 17 general complaints, two misdemeanor arrests, one notice served, 195 office duties completed, 22 on view, one open door or window, 30 public contacts made, three record checks, 16 requests for service, 26 school patrols, 149 total security checks conducted, 11 suspicious person, vehicle or activities responded to, 31 traffic details, 10 uniform traffic tickets issued, 50 verbal warnings given, one Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) check, 13 written warnings issued, and 648 total records.
Chief Martin also updated the council that the applicants are doing well at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. They will complete their training March 15. The reserves have two months left.
