A South Bend man was arrested Wednesday, December 27 after an officer with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department observed a vehicle with a license plate that did not match the vehicle being driven.
Police say the driver, identified as 47-year-old Joseph Kenawell, had a suspended driver’s license. Upon further investigation, officers found marijuana that the driver allegedly tried to grind into the floor board of the vehicle. Methamphetamine and paraphernalia were also found in the vehicle, according to the report.
Kenawell was arrested on preliminary charges of obstruction of justice, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
