A Peru man was arrested Tuesday, December 26 after Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies stopped a vehicle for allegedly speeding on U.S. 31.
While officers were talking to the driver, 33-year-old Kennedy C. McClellan, an odor of marijuana was detected. McClellan reportedly admitted to smoking before he left the house and field sobriety testing was conducted.
McClellan was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
