Connecticut Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Drunk Driving

A Connecticut woman was arrested Friday, December 29 after deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated several calls about an erratic vehicle traveling south on U.S. 31 in the area of Veteran’s Parkway.

An Argos Police Department officer located and conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle in the area of U.S. 31 and 18th Road with Marshall County deputies and Indiana State Police also responding and assisting in the investigation.


During the investigation, police say it was determined that the driver of the vehicle, Claudette J. Whaples, was intoxicated and also in possession of drug paraphernalia.


Whaples was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated – endangering, operating while intoxicated – BAC 0.15% or more, and possession of paraphernalia.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
