The Bourbon Town Council reorganized for their first regular Town Council meeting in 2024. Les McFarland will serve as President, Terry Clemens as Vice President, with member Jonah Best.

The Council approved the following appointments to remain in 2024: Alex Hoover – Town Attorney, William Martin – Chief of Police, and Roger Terry – Public Works Superintendent.

Susie Schaetzle, Bourbon Building Commissioner & Zoning Enforcement Officer, presented the updated draft for the Solar Panels Ordinance with edits including the two mile zone for review by Attorney Hoover.

The council renewed Heather Chupp’s Contract for cleaning – the contract reflected no changes from the previous year. Chupp provides custodial services for the Matchett Center, the park pavilion, restrooms and the Town Hall.

The council also renewed the Bourbon Fire Department Contract. That contract remained the same as it was in 2023.

The council established Employee Liaison Appointments – Best was assigned to the boards and the Fire Department, McFarland was assigned to the Police Department, and Clemens was assigned to Utilities. Those liaison assignments will change periodically so that each member familiarizes themselves with each department. A work session has been scheduled for Monday, January 29 at 3 p.m. ET to enhance communication and answer questions and concerns
