The Bourbon Town Council made various appointments when they met last week.

The council accepted resignations of Anna Gilsinger from the Board of Zoning Appeals and of Jonah Best. Best now serves as a council member.

The council appointed Council President Les McFarland to the Emergency Management Agency Advisory Board.

Upon the recommendation of Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger, the council tabled the appointment to One Marshall County due to uncertainty moving forward due a potential lack of equal representation of all municipalities across Marshall County. Berger anticipated that the issue will be addressed in a future meeting of the Marshall County Commissioners. Bill Davis will be contacted by McFarland regarding concerns.

The council retained all the current members to the Redevelopment Commission. The council still needs to appoint a non-voting member from the Triton School Board.

The council appointed Anna Gilsinger to the Plan Commission as the citizen member and to the Technical Review Committee (TRC). All other members currently serving on the TRC were retained.

The council appointed Carl Amsden to the Plan Commission as the town employee representative.

The council appointed Melea Hoffer to the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA). Spencer Standley was reappointed as his term had expired.

The council approved Director of Marshall County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) Greg Hildebrand’s recommendation to appoint Patty Kitch to the MCEDC Board.

In other business, the council discussed downtown parking, rental units parking, and overnight parking limitations. Attorney Hoover will provide a draft updating the current ordinance to include the recommendations that were discussed; that draft will be considered by the council in February. A public hearing will be held on the issue before any amendments / updates are approved or a new ordinance is adopted.
