Plymouth Police Officers Arrest Suspects for Operating While Intoxicated

Two separate incidents investigated by the Plymouth Police Department resulted in arrests.

Plymouth Police officers were called to check on two individuals in a vehicle in front of Handy Spot Liquor store on Jefferson Street Saturday, December 23 at 8:32 p.m. ET.

Officers arrived and called Plymouth EMS to the scene to medically check on both subjects, who were then taken to the hospital for a medical jail clearance.

A DUI investigation reportedly found that Alejandro N. Calix Mencias of Plymouth was found to be over four times the legal limit.

Wilmer J. Gutierrez Garcia and Mencias were booked on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated and public intoxication.

On December 26 at 7:31 p.m. ET, Plymouth officers conducted a traffic stop on Michigan Street for speeding. Police say it was determined that Vincent Elder, 68, of Plymouth had been drinking. He was taken to the hospital for a certified test and transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on a preliminary charge of operating while intoxicated.

Formal charges in each incident will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
