Plymouth Man Arrested after Hit and Run Accident

Plymouth Police were dispatched to West Harrison Street regarding a hit-and-run accident Christmas Day at 3:50 a.m. ET.

While responding to the area, officers received further information and were able to locate the suspect. Police say the vehicle was still running and the suspect was in the driver’s seat. The damage to the suspect’s vehicle was consistent with the victim’s report.

The driver, Jesus Isabel Matute of Plymouth, was reportedly determined to be highly intoxicated.

He was taken to the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, endangerment, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and operator never licensed.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
