Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety Hears Utilities Update

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members approved Utilities Superintendent Donnie Davidson’s request to place four vehicles that are not being utilized on auction. More money is being spent on maintaining the vehicles than they are worth to the City of Plymouth.

City of Plymouth Attorney Sean Surrisi reviewed the contract which the board approved.

A public advertisement regarding the sale will print; 15 days later the vehicles will be eligible to auction off online.

Attorney Surrisi indicated that this procedure is authorized under state code though this is the first time this method will be utilized by the City.

Member Jeff Houin asked Attorney Surrisi if part of the motion could include making the vehicles surplus property; Surrisi agreed.

Member Don Ecker made a motion to approve the request including Houin’s suggestion. That motion was seconded and approved with no further discussion.

Davidson informed the board that he did place a $1,000 reserve on each unit.

In other news, conceptual drawings by Troyer Group are now available to view regarding the Flood Control Project on Garro St. and Plum St. There are two design options – the sidewalls vary for each design; one requires a fence the other does not. Cost estimates are included.

Houin requested that copies of the drawings be sent to members.

Davidson also confirmed that the Utilities Department will maintain the grounds for mowing and vegetation.
