A traffic stop in the area of U.S. 31 near State Road 10 Thursday, December 21 for a moving violation resulted in the arrest of the driver.
A deputy with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department stopped the car at 11:04 p.m. ET and reportedly found the driver, 31-year-old Shekina Hollis of Gary, exhibiting signs of alcohol intoxication.
As a result, Hollis was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering, resisting law enforcement, battery on law enforcement by bodily waste, and operating a vehicle without obtaining a license.
Her bond was set at $1,500 cash.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Argos Police Department.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
