The Marshall County Council heard an update about Purdue Extension when they met last week.
Josh Winrotte, Area 10 Director of Purdue Extension, updated the Council with a general overview of how Purdue Extension functions and addressed concerns regarding the lack of a 4-H Educator.
Winrotte emphasized the importance of hiring a 4-H Educator that is committed to the role who will be a good fit for Marshall County because Marshall County has had a high turnover of six 4-H Educators over the past 13 years.
Councilwoman Nicole Cox and Abby Ennis of Argos shared some of the hardships that volunteers, leaders, and children have faced in the absence of the much needed supportive role of a 4-H Educator. Winrotte agreed to continued updates throughout the year from Marshall County Purdue Extension.
In other business, the Council reappointed Ronald Armstead to the Koontz Lake Regional Sewer District for an additional four year term beginning January 1, 2024 and ending December 31, 2027.
