The Marshall County Council will meet today at 1 p.m. ET to make year-end transfer of appropriations. The meeting will be held in the second floor meeting room (Room 203) in the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
During the last Marshall County Council meeting held earlier this month, President Jesse Bohannon requested participation from two willing Council members to serve on a Bylaw Committee to establish some formal bylaws regarding procedures, best practices and process for a written frame work both for the Council and for the benefit of the public. The Council approved the establishment of a Bylaw Committee and approved the appointment of Bohannon, Councilman William Patterson, and Councilman Adam Faulstich to the committee.
Members of the Council were asked to consider which appointments they desire to serve on in 2024; appointments were not made Thursday evening. Bohannon requested that if members desired to change their board memberships or liaison appointments, to please be in communication with him prior to the first of the year.
Bohannon explained to the Council that an appointment will need to be made to the Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board. Incumbent Adam Thada expressed to Councilman Jim Masterson that he would like to continue to serve on the board.
Mayor-Elect Robert Listenberger had been the Council’s appointment to the Plymouth Economic Development Board. Since he is going to start his term as Mayor on January 1 he will automatically serve on the board as a non-voting member in that capacity; thus the Council will need to appoint their representative to fill that vacancy.
In other business, the Council approved a motion to retain Marcel Lebbin for legal counsel in 2024.
An agreement to retain Steve Dalton of Cender Dalton Municipal Advisors for financial advising in 2024 will come before the Council in January.
