A Las Vegas man was arrested Tuesday, December 5 after a traffic stop in Marshall County.
A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy initiated the traffic stop after the driver was allegedly speeding. Upon speaking with the driver, 61-year-old Michael D. Goldman, police say the officer found that Goldman did not have a valid driver’s license and marijuana was in plain view of the officer.
Goldman reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana. Field sobriety tests were then conducted, according to the report. Police say a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of legend drugs.
Goldman was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of a legend drug, possession of marijuana, operating on a suspended/revoked license, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
