The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the report of an accident in the area of 11,000 block of 11th Road Tuesday, December 12 at 3:45 p.m. ET.
Police say officers found the suspect had fled the scene. The driver, identified as Harold J. Caudill, 45, of Elkhart was located and arrested.
Officers reportedly found a handgun along with items believed to be a controlled substance in the vehicle.
A case report will be forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
