Culver Community School Corporation Superintendent Karen Shuman updated the school board on the ongoing construction projects at the Elementary School and the Middle/High School.
New thresholds in the gymnasium are the only items left on the long list of updates at the Middle/High School. At the Elementary School, more delivery items are coming in to the library for the final updates. Shuman said the new items should be installed this week (week of November 27) with the books and other materials to be set on the shelves for use by the end of the first week of December.
Sidewalk improvements are also being done on the south side of the Elementary School where the new playground equipment is expected to be installed in the spring.
All updates are part of a bond project approved by the school board last year. The school board agreed to take out two series of bonds in the amount of about $12 million to finance these updates to the school buildings with a slight increase to the tax rate.
