The Culver Community School Board members approved a proposal to move forward with offering instruction with LifeWise Academy next fall.
Superintendent Karen Shuman said that a teacher will be hired for students who choose to take this released time religious instruction focused on Bible-based character education during certain times during the day. Shuman noted that the West Central School Corporation offers the programming where several students attend classes. More information will be available as the program takes shape at Culver Community School Corporation.
In other news, the corporation will continue to offer instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students with the staff to be employed at the school corporation. This was offered in the JESSE Cooperative, but with the dissolution of the special education cooperative, the school board has agreed to continue to offer that at the corporation.
