The Marshall County Commissioners heard the quarterly update from the Marshall County Museum during their regular meeting December 4.
Director of the Marshall County Museum Sandy Garrison and President of the Marshall County Historical Society Mike Miley were present.
She reported that the museum has logged over 6,300 visitors so far; up 30% from 2022. The museum has logged 4,624 volunteer hours.
They have also excessioned over 1,500 artifacts that tell the Marshall County story and have fulfilled over 400 research requests.
The museum has hosted five special events in the third quarter. They opened two exhibits in November – The History of Trains in Marshall County and Marshall County on Fire!
Kid’s Day at the Museum will be held Wednesday, December 27th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET. The theme is “Fire!”. Children will learn fire safety, hear dragon stories, engage in games, win prizes, meet a Firefighter, enjoy the train room and create crafts.
The Marshall County Historical Society and Museum is located at 123 N. Michigan Street in Plymouth.
Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET.
