Vehicle Pursuit Brings Arrest

Brandon Toleque

On the morning of November 13 at 6 a.m. ET,  the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the area of U.S. 30 and Michigan Rd.

The vehicle driven by Brandon M. Toleque, 31, of Ohio, fled from the traffic stop and a pursuit was initiated. While pursuing the vehicle police say a passenger could be seen attempting to exit the vehicle multiple times. The pursuit ended at the Marathon Gas Station in Wanatah.

The passenger of the vehicle reportedly made claims of being transported against her will and other crimes that were committed.

Toleque was preliminarily charged with resisting law enforcement, criminal confinement, reckless driving, operating on a suspended license, and possession of cocaine or narcotic drug.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
