There are two Grand Opening celebrations Saturday, November 4 at the Marshall County Historical Society Museum in Plymouth.
The “Marshall County on Fire” display is one of two new exhibits at the museum. According to museum officials, many Marshall County communities experienced devastating downtown fires beginning in the mid-1850s. As towns and cities formed and then became more densely populated, flammable building materials posed increased risks. Out of these disasters came better safety standards over time.
Another new exhibit is one of railroad history in Marshall County. It answers many questions of the origins of the railroad and some of the common signals and terms that are used today.
Both Grand Openings will be at 10 a.m. ET Saturday, November 4 at the Museum at 123 N. Michigan Street in Plymouth. The museum’s regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET. Call 574-936-2306 for more information.
