Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Makes Warrant Arrest on Murder Charge

A traffic stop conducted in Marshall County resulted in the arrest of an Ohio man wanted for murder.

On the morning of November 13 at 6 a.m. ET, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the area of U.S. 30 and Michigan Road. The vehicle fled from the traffic stop and while pursuing the vehicle a passenger could be seen attempting to exit the vehicle multiple times. The pursuit ended at the Marathon Gas Station in Wanatah.

The passenger of the vehicle made claims of being transported against her will and other crimes that were committed. During the investigation, it was revealed that Brandon M. Toleque was allegedly involved in a murder, in Powell, Ohio.


Detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department contacted Powell, Ohio Police Department detectives who went to an address and discovered a male deceased within the residence.

Brandon M. Toleque was lodged within the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department on criminal charges. A joint investigation then began with Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, and Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office, along with the Powell Police Department.


Toleque has been charged with murder, in Delaware County, Ohio along with Marshall County charges of resisting law enforcement, criminal confinement, reckless driving, operating on suspended license, and possession of cocaine or narcotic drug.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
